Welcome to Mukwashi
After a long recruitment process, Mr Enock Mulando has joined us this month as an additional Horticultural Officer. We hope he will have a long and satisfying career working alongside our teaching staff and learners.
Enock will be responsible for our large market garden, orchards & banana plantation – and for making sure our kitchen has enough fresh food to serve 600 hungry staff, learners & visitors every day.
It is a challenging new position as he will have to liaise extensively with both our Cooks and our Agriculture teachers, and will have to learn to support and encourage our learners in their practical learning.
Mr Vincent Simakwama, who has worked in our gardens for almost twenty years, is approaching retirement and he will now be responsible only for our extensive grassy areas & flower beds – for making sure the whole site always looks loved, smart, conducive to learning and impressive to visitors.
This is Vincent’s most recent project – converting our flagpole area into a small garden where our primary learners can sit and chat.
